Waxing is a popular way of removing intimate hair and although there are waxing kits for dealing with this at home, putting your trust in a trained professional is a safer option and will generally get you better results.

Our highly trained Beauty therapists can advise on pre and post waxing care to ensure you get the best results possible. This includes understanding the best way to avoid skin grazing and ingrown hairs. At the Beauty Rooms, we use a combination of sensitive hot wax – which is usually the preferred method for the most intimate areas, and tea tree cream strip wax – usually for standard bikini waxes and larger areas, both providing a clean, smooth finish.

The Main Types of Intimate Waxing

There are different options when it comes to intimate waxing and if it’s your first time, you may not know exactly what you want.

We understand that waxing can be daunting, but our experienced therapists are here to put you at ease and make you feel as comfortable as possible. They will take the time to listen to your concerns, walk you through the process, and ensure you receive the waxing treatment that’s right for you.

Bikini Wax

The standard bikini wax removes visible hair from around the knicker line and, if desired, the top of the knicker waistband. It is ideal for a first-time wax as it allows you to get know your beauty therapist and gives you a better idea of what to expect next time.

High Bikini Wax

A high bikini wax is ideal for those who aren’t quite ready for a Brazilian yet but need a bit more than just the edges taken off, if wearing higher cut swimwear, for example. We don’t offer this as a separate treatment at TBR but it can be requested.

Brazilian Wax

This is the ‘almost’ everything off wax but just keeping a landing strip or triangle at the top/inner area. The amount of hair left is personal preference. It does include the underneath/backside if desired.

Hollywood Wax

The Hollywood is the wax treatment for anyone wanting to get rid of all pubic hair including the underneath/backside (if desired).

Choosing the Right Intimate Wax

The right wax depends on what you are looking for. Some women prefer to take all the hair off, while some prefer keeping most of it. There is no right or wrong and the decision is all yours! If you need any clarification as to which wax you would prefer, your beauty therapist will be able to offer assistance and advice according to why you want a waxing.

Waxing Aftercare Tips

It is important to follow the aftercare advice you are given by your therapist to ensure your waxing is as effective as possible.

Conclusion

There are different options for intimate waxing and it all comes down to personal choice. For some, the decision to have an intimate wax means going all in straight away with a Hollywood and just taking the plunge! For others, it’s easing in gently and gradually taking off a bit more each time. Whatever is right for you, we are here for it.

And remember, aftercare is important and you should talk to your beauty therapist to ensure you understand your bikini waxing aftercare requirements.
